We count visits to this website so we know what people find interesting. We do it without cookies, without anything stored on your device, without ads, and without following you around the web. We never sell data.
Incremental Foundry is a trading name of Future Lab Solutions Ltd, a private limited company registered in England and Wales (company no. 11934532). We are the data controller for this website. Contact: hello@incrementalfoundry.com.
This policy covers incrementalfoundry.com and links.incrementalfoundry.com. Our games, and our accounts on other platforms (Steam, YouTube, X and the rest), follow those platforms' own policies.
We use PostHog, hosted in the EU, to count page views. For each visit it records:
No cookies, and nothing stored on your device. To count unique visitors, PostHog combines your IP address and browser details into a one-way hash with a secret that changes every day and is then deleted. It can't be reversed, so it can't be used to recognise you on another day or on another website. Your IP address itself isn't stored.
If your browser sends a Do Not Track signal, we don't load analytics at all.
We use this because we have a legitimate interest in understanding, in aggregate, how people find and use the site. We keep analytics data only for as long as it's useful for understanding how the site is used, and delete it when it no longer is. Because it can't identify you, none of it is linked to any individual.
The clicker at the top of the homepage saves your sparks and upgrades in your own browser's storage, so they're there when you come back. Your progress stays on your device. Clearing your browser data resets it.
We do count, anonymously, how people play it, with the same cookie-free analytics as above: when someone first strikes the anvil in a visit, when their strike total passes milestones (10, 100, 1,000 and so on), which upgrades are bought, and when all ten are owned. None of it identifies you.
We use your email address and message to reply, and we keep the conversation for as long as it's useful. We never add you to a mailing list without asking.
Each processes data only to provide its service to us. Where any of them handles data outside the UK, it's covered by the safeguards UK data-protection law requires.
Under UK data-protection law you can ask to see, correct or delete personal data we hold about you, or object to how we use it. Email hello@incrementalfoundry.com. Because our analytics can't identify you, we usually hold nothing we could link back to you. If you're unhappy with how we've handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office.
If this changes, we'll update this page and the date below.
